Presiding Member Welcome

Home // Presiding Member Welcome

Tēnā koutou. Ko Kimberley Swinburn toku ingoa. I am honoured to be the Presiding Member of Our Lady of the Assumption School.
I have two children in Year 6 and 8 at OLA. As both a parent and a Board member I witness the school values of Respect, Responsibility, Life-Long Learning and Faith throughout every aspect of our children’s education journey. It is evident that OLA strives to provide an environment, learning opportunities and values that prepare our ākonga to enter their high school years and the rest of their lives as caring young people who are well equipped to succeed.
As School Board members, we are committed to ensuring that the success and wellbeing of all our tamariki is paramount. We are guided by the National Education and Learning Priorities (NELPs) set by the Ministry of Education, and by working alongside our Principal we ensure that each and every learner has the necessary teaching and resources to achieve success.
In my life outside of OLA I am a Registered Psychologist with a particular interest in the wellbeing of children and whānau. I am proud that as a School Board we also place great value on wellbeing and community connectedness. In conjunction with our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) we endeavour to nurture and enhance the feeling of togetherness within our school community through various initiatives, including our ‘Helping Hands’ Programme.
On behalf of our School Board, I welcome you and your family to our school and we know that you will love being a part of the OLA Community!
